Once in a while, something truly incredible comes along in my email box that is worth sharing. This eight minute video clip is a collaborative animation by Blu and David Ellis done outdoors in the courtyard of a building. Blu is a street art and design group with an equally creative and interesting website. Click the image this link to view the video.

University of Nebraska–Lincoln

This past spring, we designed and produced this catalog for the Sheldon Museum of Art at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The catalog featured recent acquisitions by the museum to its collection by several african-american artists. There is a series by the artist Jacob Lawrence called Eight Passages based on the King James version of Genesis. This artist is of special interest to me as he taught at Pratt Institute, my graduate school alma mater.

High Line Opening Day

I took a quick break yesterday to take a walk on the new High Line park with my friend Douglas. In between torrential rain, we walked from the entrance on Gansevoort Street to 20th Street and back. The park will eventually run up to 34th Street. It is an amazing piece of urban design. The landscaping, furniture and views are amazing. Its great to get up above the street and cut through blocks to see views of the city you could never see before. I highly recommend taking a walk and hanging out in this new park. No dogs (including Fannie) are allowed up there yet until the plantings get established. To read more about the High Line, follow this link. Photos are from the High Line site.

Fannie’s First Birthday and First Dog Show

Ludlow6's little office manager had her first birthday on May 10th. She took a walk around town with her birthday hat and had many photos taken including this one at home. This past weekend, she was in her first dog show up in Westchester County. Up against stiff competition from Patty Hearst’s dogs, she managed to place as "reserve female" or third out of 6 dogs. Not too bad but for a puppy half the size of her competition and she at least got a ribbon!

18 Annual Reports in a Row!

Be sure to take a look at the eighteen consecutive years of annual reports we designed and produced for NACME. Over the years, the direction of the organization and the budgets changed, but we were always able to produce great looking, on-target reports for this this not-for-profit. Not only was this their Annual Report, it was the chief marketing instrument used throughout the year for fundraising and to increase awareness for their programs. How many studios can say they produced eighteen years of reports for a client . . . probably not to many! See them all here.
